Andrew J. Bishop, MD

Assistant Professor, MD Anderson Cancer Center

I am a radiation oncologist specializing in sarcomas, melanoma/skin, and spine tumors, many of which generally afflict the younger patient population. My clinical interest lies in maximizing the therapeutic ratio of radiation therapy – improving the outcomes while minimizing the toxicity. The late toxicities that result from cancer care, especially as the cancer outcomes continue to improve, are particularly important considerations for our young adult population. My clinical focus and research interests dovetail nicely to provide a unique perspective for the AYA population.
